Meet Tonka, an adorable and devoted therapy doggo, that knows that his presence is needed now, more than ever before.
Tonka has been visiting the Cedar Pointe Health and Wellness Suites in Texas for the past few years with his mamma Sarah Peters. The two bring much joy and laughter to the seniors with every visit. Recently, following the coronavirus outbreak, the senior home went into complete lockdown and didn’t allow anyone to enter its doors. Tonka wasn’t going to let his beloved seniors lose contact with the outside world, so he found a sneaky way around the new limitations.
Instead of entering the senior home, Tonka went around the building and greeted each and every person through the window. The friendly doggo let the people feel, that they’re not alone, in spite of their self-isolation.
The responses Tonka and his mother got were filled with joy and gratitude. The elders put their hands against the window. A few were so touched by the pooch’s gesture, that it brought tears to their eyes.
Some even wrote Tonka signs to show their sincere appreciation for his surprise visit.
The people at the Cedar Pointe Health and Wellness Suites know that, no matter how things unfold, Tonka will never forget them and will keep visiting them until they could finally reunite face to face. The glass window might stop them from reuniting in the flesh but not in spirit!
