Senior cat LOVES to be held, so they found a creative solution

Meet Dougie, a senior finger cat, who “loves nothing more than to be held, 24/7”. He is living his peaceful days in a shelter. For the majority of the time, he can be heard mewing for a pickup.

According to a post on the Facebook page of Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland:

“When he’s not being held, Dougie’s meow can be heard from galaxies far away”

So what did the shelter staff do? They decided to strap little Dougie in a baby carrier, of course!

“So, we thought creatively and decided a baby Bjorn carrier will allow Robert to both hold Dougie and do his job effectively “

Now the crew can perform their job and duties with ease, while Dougie is being held. Obviously, he seems to love it!

Lovely Dougie who had been battling an inflammatory bowel disease was just put up for adoption that week! Needless to say, the Facebook post went viral, and he found a loving and holding home in no time!

Since the cute Dougie is home, we would like to remind you to contact your local shelter if you are looking for a buddy for life.

Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland says they “think it’s pretty much the cutest thing we’ve seen, ever.”

Well, we think so too!

What do you think?
