Yulelogs is an adorable gray seal that knows a good snack when he sees one. While most wild seals only live up to the age of 25 on average, Yulelogs, the gray seal recently celebrated his 31st birthday with a giant delicious ice cake. Yum!
The adorable seal was born in a marine park in northern England before being released to the wild a few years later. Apparently, Yulelogs got used to humans’ presence because he struggled to adapt to hunting his own food in the wild.
“Three months after his release, Yulelogs was rescued by the RSPCA after concerned members of the public reported that he was chasing people with buckets on the beach as he believed they contained fish.” The Cornish Seal Sanctuary, Yulelogs’s new home, posted on Facebook.
The lifespan of wild gray seals averages around 25 years, while precious little Yulelogs is already 31! To celebrate the special occasion, caretakers prepared a special birthday ice cake for the seal. It was even filled with fish. The look on his face says it all, he was over the moon!
Now that the park is closed to the public due to COVID-19, caretakers at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary have plenty of time to prepare special treats like this ice cake for their residents. We just hope that Yulelogs is ok with spending some time out of the spotlights…
