Retired Man Builds ‘Dog Train’ To Take Rescued Dogs On Adventures

When people hit retirement they often start doing what they truly wanted to all along. This is undoubtedly the case of Eugene Bostick. The lovely 80-year-old man who builds a ‘dog train’ for the sole purpose of giving dumped dogs a few moments of much-deserved joy.

Bostick lives with his brother on a dead-end street in Fort Worth, Texas. Sadly, over the years their street has become infamous for being a popular dumping spot for dogs. Bostick, who couldn’t just turn a blind eye to the helpless starving dogs, started taking them in. He took the dogs to the vet to get spayed and looked at, fed them, and gave them endless amounts of love. The 80-year-old always dreamt of taking all of his rescues on fun adventures together but didn’t quite know how. After all, there were so many of them. Happily, one day the solution dawned on him. Being a gifted welder, Bostick attached old barrels to his tractor and built a dog train.

By now the people of Fort Worth, Texas are already used to seeing the unusual sight. For the rest of us on the other hand, it’s a sight to behold. The once dumped strays finally get the attention they deserve, and they love it! Every time Bostick sounds the horn of his tractor, the dogs come running to him, ready for another delightful ride in their dog train. Bostick isn’t sure how much longer he’ll be able to treat his dogs with these adorable rides, but he’s certain that he’ll keep going for as long as his health allows him.
