Rescue Pitbulls Save Owner’s Life During Robbery

Rescue animals feel grateful for every day they get to spend off the streets, and with their beloved owners. It was no different for these two Pitbulls, who heroically scared off burglars to save their owner’s life during an attempted robbery.

Robert McGowan’s two pitties, who are named Ladybug and Elabelle, weren’t always lucky enough to have the loving home they have now. They started life as rejected strays, who went from one shelter to the next. McGowan was the first human to see past their appearance and into their sweet and loving souls.

A few months ago, McGowan was relaxing in his garage, sitting next to his car. With his guard was down, and the overhead door up, something unexpected suddenly happened. Four strangers burst into his garage and knocked him on the ground with a punch to his left eye. The four men commanded him to give them his car keys. Shocked and slightly woozy, the man replayed that the keys were inside the house. The Thieves rushed inside his house, not knowing that the car keys aren’t the only thing that’s waiting for them inside.

As soon as the burglars opened the door, Ladybug and Elabelle charged them and chased them away. The two doggos then went to check on their beloved owner, who was still lying on the floor. He couldn’t believe what just happened.

McGowan hopes that his story will inspire others to adopt Pitbulls, and see them for the sweet and compassionate beings that they are. Following the event, the man posted on Facebook: “They are rescues. Unwanted dogs. They saved my life. Please consider adopting a rescue. They might save your life too.” Well put McGowan, rescues will be there for you when you need them, just like you’ve been there for them.

Share the story about the two Pitbulls who save their owner’s life, to inspire others to view Pitbulls just like any other breed.
