Orangutan Saw Her Caretakers Washing Their Hands, So She Did The Same

Sandra is an incredibly loveable 34-year-old Orangutan. She was born at the Rostock Zoologischer Garten, Germany in 1986. Then, at the age of 8, Sandra was sent along with a male named Max to the Buenos Aires Zoo in Argentina, where she spent the majority of her life.

After the Buenos Aires Zoo closed down, Sandra was transferred, yet again, to the Center for Great Apes in Florida. For those who watched Netflix’s docu-series The Tiger King *SPOILER ALERT*, this is the same sanctuary that Joe Exotic’s chimps were transferred to as well.

After seeing her caretaker’s strict hand hygiene discipline, the clever ape started thoroughly washing her own hands as well. Sandra even took some time to clean her surroundings, before deciding she’d done enough for one day, and reused the water to irrigate her plants. You go girl! Show us how it’s done!
