On the surface, this officer’s selfie session with his dog went uninterrupted, but one woman who spotted it made sure that it goes viral. Officer Andre Cloyd and his dog Zigi were posing for the camera, not knowing that they’re being filmed by Gina Anzaldua, who spotted the session from afar.
The woman uploaded her pictures to Dogspotting Society, where people fell in love with the two’s charming interaction. After taking each selfie, the man showed the picture to his K9 partner and waited for his approval.
With Gina’s post going viral, it didn’t take long for the officer, who’s now also an active member of the group, to notice it. The man saw Gina’s post and noticed that people were asking for more pictures of him and Zigi. He didn’t want to let his new fans down, so he uploaded the selfies he took earlier to the group.
In an interview with 5NBC, Cloyd revealed that this moment was nothing out of the ordinary for him and Zigi. Cloyd said: “They captured what’s just everyday life for us. We weren’t doing anything special,” the officer explained. “We take photos together, we watch movies together, we go to the gym together.” Cloyd then continued to describe why he loves his job so much. “To get paid to do something you’ve loved since the age of four, it’s a privilege, definitely. Zigi’s the star, but even more so, we’re just a small piece of a unit, a department and a law enforcement community that does everything we can to ensure the safety of the passengers.”
Just looking at them you can tell that they’re the best of friends. They know when to be serious, but just as importantly, know when to fool around together.
