Man Rescues Pit Bulls From Death Row And Builds Them A Sanctuary

In addition to all the difficulties that come with being a stray dog, stray Pit Bulls also face the stigma of being vicious baby killers. This, of course, is far from being the truth. Pit Bulls, like any other breed, are only as good as the owners raised them to be. Unfortunately, many people who visit the shelters in search of a dog, still shy away from adopting Pit Bulls.

One man took it upon himself to care for Pitbulls and educate people on how loving and affectionate they really are. The man, who goes by the name of Jason Flatt, is now building a 46-acre shelter to house the dogs he rescues from what he calls the “doggy death-row”.

Flatt’s currently keeps the rescue Pits in his house. He hopes to be able to help pits on more massive amounts, once the construction of his new Pit Bull facility is complete.

The shelter is planned to be a state-of-the-art facility that will provide Pits with all the amenities they would need. Each dog will be assigned a 40-ft area that’s half-open half-closed, half concrete half grass, giving the Pits with every option possible. The shelter will also have an outdoor doggy-pool, an indoor play area for those rainy days, and a state of the art vet area.

The Pit Bull sanctuary is fully funded by donations, and run with the help of devoted volunteers, who help Flatt around the clock. Flatt is determined to find the right family for every Pit Bull, but those who don’t find a home are always welcome to stay in his shelter.

We need more people like Jason Flatt, that look beyond stereotypes and see the good soul in every living creature.
