Man Builds The Smallest Picnic Table For Squirrels In His Backyard

It turns out that some people stuck at home found more productive ways of passing their time than binge-watching nostalgic 80’s TV shows on Netflix. Shocking.
Rick Kalinowski, from Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, is certainly one of those people. The 43-year-old man builds miniature picnic tables for squirrels, just so he could enjoy breakfast with them.

The man has a long relationship with the squirrels with whom he shares his backyard. In an interview with The Daily Mail, Kalinowski said: ‘I wake up at sunrise and have done for years, just to feed the squirrels and fill the bird feeders. I make my coffee, put on the morning news and watch everyone eat’.

Kalinowski, who practices social distancing, lately found himself with a lot of free time on his hands. The inventive man took some wood he had lying around his shed and crafted the most adorable picnic table for his fluffy neighbors to enjoy. He then mounted the table to his fence and positioned it right in front of his kitchen table, so he could watch them while having his breakfast.

Now Kalinowski opens his breakfast buffet every morning at sunrise. When asked what he serves his fluffy guests he said: ‘I buy a variety of nuts and seeds for the squirrels along with fresh-cut fruit; it brings me happiness especially during these uncertain times.’
The guests haven’t left a tip or a favorable Yelp review, but Kalinowski knows they enjoy his latest project. They wouldn’t have come back twice a day otherwise.

The miniature furniture since took the internet by storm with countless shares warm replays and take-offs.
One morning the squirrels looked so happy that Kalinowski just had to take a video of them eating, watch it here:
