9 year-old Harry from Cheshire was left heartbroken after his best dog friend, George, passed away. But Harry didn’t forget his canine pal, and in fact, he leaves him some space on the cushion where George used to sleep.
Harry’s owner, Caitlin Wynne, had to share the heartbreaking picture with the world on Twitter. She wrote: “I’m full on crying rn…he always let George sleep there and he died almost a year ago and he still lies there.”

Beloved George was put down at age 15, both Wynne and Harry have been missing him a lot, and Harry still leaves him some space hoping that George will be back one day. Loyal Harry rests his head on the dog bed where George used to sleep exactly the way he used to do a year back when his pal was still alive.
Caitlin adopted George when he was about a year old and Harry when he was a tiny puppy. They both knew each other since they could remember and used to do everything together. They loved running around, exploring the house, and napping by each other’s side.
When George got older, he started to get sick and later was diagnosed with kidney failure. Unfortunately, his loving family had to put him down.
It wasn’t easy for poor Harry to go through the loss. He used to spend every waking moment together with his beloved brother.
Ever since George passed, Harry didn’t sleep in George’s place, and he won’t take his place, so he sleeps by his brother’s resting spot.
Their mother said: “I slept on the sofa the night before we had George put to sleep to keep him company and Harry was pacing around the room crying, and wouldn’t sleep all night as if he knew something was wrong. We took Harry to the vets with us when George was put to sleep and stayed next to him the whole time. Harry grieved for a couple of weeks.”
“His tail was down and he wouldn’t socialise or eat any treats,” Wynne added. “Almost a year on and he clearly still misses George! He sleeps on the floor to the side of the bed now quite often but I didn’t realise why until I was looking through photos of them both from a year ago and saw the photo I tweeted which made me realise,” their owner explained.
Dogs are so loyal. The two pooches’ story touched the world’s hearts. Rest in peace, dear George.
