Dog Leads His Human To A Box Of Abandoned Kittens And Becomes Their Dad

Sadly, as a result of the novel Coronavirus outbreak, more and more pets are being deserted by their owners, who can’t, or think that they can’t, care for them anymore.

One woman who also volunteers at SCARS, a Greek animal rescue organization, tries to fight this phenomenon alongside her loyal dog Aragon. Just over the past month, the woman and her pooch saved the lives of over 25 abandoned pets.

Aragon’s human wanted to film a short clip about a notorious dumping spot up in the mountains, so as always, she took her dog and drove up to the mountains. As the two were strolling and enjoying the spectacular scenery, the pooch began to pull his human off the trail. He led her to a small white box and sat next to it. The woman opened the box and couldn’t believe her eyes. It was full of adorable newborn kittens, who were left in that sealed box to die. She took the box to her car, gave the kittens water and food and brought them home with her.

It was only when the woman got home that she noticed her dog was acting differently. Instead of lying in the corner of the living room like he usually does, the pooch seemed to feel obligated to care for the kittens’ wellbeing. He followed their every move, kept them away from potential dangers and acted as if he was their adopted father.

Thankfully, Aragon’s mother documented the rescue and uploaded the video to YouTube. She wrote in the video’s description: “This time, the kittens were lucky. We were walking Aragon near the mountain, actually planning to [film a] video on the huge number of animals abandoned there, when Aragon started pulling us towards their direction – basically, he was the rescuer, and he has been an excellent foster dad since day one.”If you happen to live in Greece consider yourself lucky – the kittens are available for adoption at SCAR’s website.
