Monty and Rosie are two out of six adorable cockapoos that came to this world last June. They have since parted ways, but after seeing what happened when the two cockapoo siblings bumped into each other, there is no denying that they recognize each other.
Despite having four other litter brothers, Monty and Rosie preferred to spend their time together as puppies. Susan Killip, who is Rosie’s mother, gave Monty to a friend of hers, who lived in a nearby village. That was the last time the two cockapoos saw each other. That is, of course, until their adorable reunion last month.
After losing touch for 10 months, Monty and Rosie finally crossed paths again. It happened coincidently, as they both met on a walk in a local park. The two jumped, sniffed, hugged, and kissed. There was no denying that the two cockapoo siblings recognize each other.
It wasn’t long before the two’s reunion swept the internet by storm. Libby Pincher, a Twitter user, posted a conversation she had with her father about the two dogs. Their conversation went viral too. That proves it, cuteness is infectious.
The father wrote: “So, Dave was out walking his dog, and there was a couple walking towards him with a white version of his dog. Turns out they are brother and sister from the same litter. But instead of just playing like they do with other dogs, look at this.”

Some were skeptical of the two’s ability to remember each other. Killip is convinced beyond any doubt, that the two’s warm reaction, is a result of their fond memories of one another.
Tufts University claims on their website that “Dogs of the same breed often gravitate toward each other, what we know is this: The scent of another dog stays with a dog for a long time … But whether the dog is processing that it’s a familial connection, we’ll probably never know for sure.”
We guess whether or not the two remember each other, will forever remain a mystery. The one thing you can be 100% certain of is that the two earned each other’s friendship, and that’s certainly nothing to be underestimated.
