As winter strikes the southern hemisphere, homeless humans and dogs having a real struggle surviving on the streets.
Dogs wander around trying to find a sheltered spot in which they will be able to keep themselves dry and hide from the cold weather. Sadly, many people and animals aren’t able to survive in the freezing temperatures.
A bus station in Brazil couldn’t stand watching the poor strays shivering in the cold, so they decided to take action to help them. The staff members at the Barreirinha bus center in Curitiba, Brazil, tried to come up with ideas to keep the dogs warm during wintertime but then they had a lightbulb moment in which they thought about something incredible!
The employees opened the doors for three stray pups and named them Pitoco, Zoinho and Max. They wanted the dogs to sleep comfortably, so they got them beds and warm blankets.
When Fabiane Rosa, a local politician, saw the heartwarming act at the bus station, she hailed the compassionate staff members and shared heartfelt photos of the adorable pups sleeping in their new beds.
Needless to say that it got everyone’s attention and the story made rounds on social media.
The politician wrote on Facebook “Congratulations to the terminal staff, everyone understands that these angels are there and have a right to be. So many companies in Curitiba could follow this example, adopting a pet. Of course it is not the ideal, but at least there are those who are looking after them,” (translated from Portuguese).
The selfless act tugged at people’s heartstrings all over the world and hopefully it will inspire more people to open their doors for stray animals who find themselves entirely at the mercy of humans.
